Mobile Firefox Best On The W3C’s New Mobile Browser Test

The W3C’s Mobile Web Test Suites Working Group has released their Web Compatibility Test for Mobile Browsers Version 2.  It’s at www.w3.org/2010/01/wctmb2/. This is a forward looking test that is designed to test HTML 5 capabilities that will drive the next generation of mobile Webapps including XmlHttpRequest, <canvas>, <input type=’date’>, contenteditable, Appcache,  <video>, <audio>, Web Workers, localStorage, sessionStorage and @font-face. Foursquare Competitor Gowalla’s Location Aware Mobile WebApp

Gowalla is a location based social networking “game” that is very similar to the better known Foursquare. But it’s not a copy or clone. The two services were created independently and both were launched essentially simultaneously at SXSW last year. Gowalla players compete for “Pins”, the equivalent or Foursquare’s badges, by checking in at physical locations around their neighborhood, city and the world.
