Google Maps

Google's Maps mobile web app combines maps, driving, cycling, transit and walking directions and local search.
On most smartphones with GPS capabilites, maps.google.com/maps/ launches a scrollable, zoomable map centered on your current location. If GPS is disabled or not supported, a search box is displayed initially. Enter an address to display a static map of the location. Sometimes the static map is all you get in basic browsers, but there's often a link to a landmark above the map that launches an interactive map with buttons for directions and map layers.

MapQuest
wap.mapquest.com/ (HTML5)
MapQuest was one of the first mapping and directions sites on the web and quickly became the market leader, a position it still holds. Mapquest allows you to specify a business name as a starting and ending point. Using Mapquest to search for a business is simple and intuitive. You type all or part of a business name in the first field (labeled Place Name: e.g. "Hotel" or "Hilton") on the location screen. Mapquest will give you a list of businesses matching your search string and allow you to pick one. It's not limited to Hotels and Restaurants either, it's apparently based on telephone business listings and is very complete. I was able to find virtually any local business including mom and pop stores ,doctors and lawyers. Mapquest can display a map (resized to suit your phone's screen size) of your starting or ending location along with turn by turn directions.
Yahoo Directions

Yahoo's Driving Directions Web app is GPS aware, but works on most phones using a text address input box where you can enter street address, city/state or zip.
The address parser seems quite forgiving in what it accepts, ignoring case and punctuation and handling abbreviations and truncated city names well. Yahoo remembers the last four locations entered and allows you to reuse them. You can also choose a location from your saved Yahoo Favorite Locations. A small route overview map sublements the turn by turn directions.
