Zillow is a familiar name for house hunters in the US. It's s a real estate search site that was started by a couple of Microsoft and Expedia alumni and has really taken off,  thanks to a unique interface that makes obscure public records of home sales and assessments highly available and accessible to anyone.

You can enter any US residential address on the Zillow site and get back you all sorts of information about the property; square footage, number of bedrooms and baths and a computer generated "Zestimate" of the home's value.  If the home is currently for sale, Zillow adds details from the sale listing including, photos, description and asking price.

Zillow also lets you search for properties for sale or rent. On the desktop search results include a Microsoft/Nokia satelite map of the neighborhood with each for sale house's asking price printed on the roof!  The mobile search results hides its (non-satelite) map on a sub-opage, but includes a thumbnail image of each property along with the asking price, square footage and address. Another feature for homeowners is the ability to set a "Make Me Move" price without actually putting the house on the market or even revealing their identity.  Make Me Move homes are displayed with a blue icon on the map. Interested parties can contact the owner through Zillow.

Zillow uses a hybrid design for its mobile webapp. There are separate mobile formatted versions of the search form and search results pages. The individual propert listing pages use a responsive web design that reformats itself on the fly to fit the width of mobile, tablet and desktop browsers

Homes.com's slick looking mobile site lets you search local real estate listings for residential rentals and properties for sale in the US. Listings include description, photo, map, asking price, address and the name address and phone number of the realtor offering the property. Search is by address, zip code or MLS ID.  Results can be filtered by price, property type and number of bedrooms and/or baths and can be sorted by price or number of bedrooms/baths.

 Century 21 is a nationwide US real estate broker. The mobile site lets you search for homes for sale anywhere in the US. You can search by radius from an city + state or zip code and filter on price range and number of bedrooms and baths. Results include photos and the listing agents' click to call phone numbers.

Launched in December, 2009, the mobile site of KB Home, a large US home builder, lets prospective buyers search homes for sale and view community information, prices, floor plans, driving directions, home photos and renderings.

UDR is United Dominion Realty which owns and manages a number of large apartment complexes in U.S. cities. UDR's mobile site, udrapartments.mobi makes it easy to find rental units in major U.S. cities with your mobile phone. With it you can browse by state and city or use an advanced search form that lets you filter results by price, number of bedrooms and baths and available amenities like a pool, air conditioning and whether pets are permitted.

Searches return a scrolling list of properties meeting the search criteria. There is quite a bit of information in the initial listing including address, a small photo, range of rent prices and a non-click to call phone number.You can drill down into each listing to bring up a page with a description, larger photo, driving directions, email address and click to call phone number..You can drill down to see details of all the different types of units in the building and which ones are available. For units that are unavailable you can sign up to receive text alerts to be notified when a vacancy occurs.

Zoopla is a mobile Web service that claims to be the UK's 0ist comprehensive property website with thousands of listings country-wide. The site's advanced search lets you filter by minimum and maximum price, number of bedrooms, "freshness" of the listing, type of unit (house, flat or apartment) and radius from a town or neighborhood center.

Listings include the price, general location, a photo, brief description, the name, website and click to call phone number of the listing agent as well as a map showing the property's approximate location.
