CoolSmartphone  CoolSmartphone is another Microsoft Smartphone focused site. The mobile version has a collection of mobile friendly links as its front page. Look carefully and you will see two links to the site's own mobile content. The first, labeled Latest CoolSmartphone News is basically a blog containing new product announcements and Windows Mobile tips and tricks. Then there is "My Blog" which is the mostly off-topic and rather entertaining blog of Gears, the site's webmaster. Gears is currently on honeymoon so things are a little slow at CoolSmartphone right now. A word of warning to those of you on lesser phones, both the News and Gears blogs are rather heavy (40-50 KB worth) on graphics for a mobile site. The Openwave browser on my Moto i855 threw up it's hands at both pages and refused to download most of the images. Opera Mini had no problem loading the pages in seconds, including all the images, over a slow 40 kbs connection. I can't say it often enough, if your phone can run Opera Mini, get it. Opera Mini will completely change the way you look at the mobile web.

XDA-Developers

Content: *****  Usability: XXX
forum.xda-developers.com/archive/ (HTML5)
A tech forum devoted to HTC manufactured Windows Mobile devices. A great resource not only for developers but for anyone interested in getting the most from their HTC handset. Sadly, one of the best features of the site, it's huge library of ROM images, useful for upgrading your phone with the latest enhancements and bug fixes, is being taken down at the request of Microsoft lawyers! A stupid move by Microsoft which will drive away the most dedicated and enthusiastic users of the Winows Mobile platform and encourage mobile Linux adoption.

Bev Howard's PPC Tips

Content: ****  Usability: XXXX
bevhoward.com/bhhpj.htm (HTML5)
Bev Howard's PocketPC Tips and Tricks bevhoward.com/bhhpj.htm Bev Howard has been using Windows Mobile since the days of Windows CE and the HPC and his "few" tips is more like a few hundred. Some of the items on this site are old but most are still relevant to the latest Windows Mobile devices. The pages are big, around 120 KB, which is no problem if you are using a Windows Mobile phone (or Opera, Webkit or NetFront) but will probably not work too well on your RAZR.
