Opera Software has released updates for a couple of its browsers.<\/p>\n

There’s a updated Opera Mobile for Android.<\/strong>\u00a0The new release is Version 12.1.1 and it includes the following bug fixes:<\/p>\n

• Fixed issue with commenting on Facebook<\/li>\n
• Fixed issue with embedded Youtube videos<\/li>\n
• Fixed issue with incorrect external URLs opening<\/li>\n
• Various stability improvements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  The new release is\u00a0available\u00a0from the\u00a0Google Play Store<\/a>\u00a0or directly from opera.com\/mobile\/download\/versions\/<\/a>\u00a0for users of non-Google Experience Android devices.\u00a0Opera Mobile requires \u00a0Android 1.6 or latter.<\/p>\n

  Opera Mini for iOS<\/strong> (iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad) has been updated version 7.0.5. It includes the following fixes and improvements:<\/p>\n

  • Integration with iOS Facebook framework (iOS 6).<\/li>\n
  • Improved performance when saving large images.<\/li>\n
  • Fixed freeze after sharing via email.<\/li>\n
  • Fixed video playback on youtube.com (iPhone and iPod).<\/li>\n
  • Performance and stability fixes.<\/li>\n
  • Added support for iOS 4.2 – iPod touch 2nd generation and iPhone 3G is back in game!<\/li>\n
  • Various iOS 6 related fixes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    As always Opera Mini for iOS is available only from the iTunes App Store<\/a>. It requires iOS 4.2 or latter.<\/p>\n

    While these are relatively minor updates they do fix issues that kept both Youtube and Facebook from working properly. I suspect that the return of Opera Mini iOS 4.2 support is also making a lot of owners of older iDevices happy.<\/p>\n

    I upgraded to Opera Mobile 12.1.1 on my Motorola Photon running Android 2.3. The upgrade went off without a hitch. I confirmed that I was able to comment on Facebook\u00a0as well as watch embedded YouTube videos on Nokia Conversations and the desktop version of Engadget. The same videos\u00a0had only displayed a black rectangle in the previous 12.1 Opera Mobile release.<\/p>\n
