Here&#8217;s a run down of features.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Optionally detects mobile devices and automatically delivers a mobile optimized version of the requested page preserving <a href=\"https:\/\/wapreview.com\/2122\">thematic consistency<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Mobilizes posts, comments and WordPress pages like archives, search results, contact form, and &#8220;About&#8221; page.<\/li>\n<li>Optionally redirects mobile browsers to a mobile specific URL like site.mobi or m.site.com.<\/li>\n<li>Allows users to override device detection and view the desktop site on their full-web mobile browser or the mobile site with a desktop browser.<\/li>\n<li>Re-sizes images and splits up long pages so that your site will work on even the most basic of feature phones.<\/li>\n<li>Capable of generating 100% valid xhtml-mp markup,\u00a0 achieving a perfect 5.0 on\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ready.mobi\/results.jsp?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fmomodublin.mobi%2F&amp;locale=en_EN\">Ready.mobi<\/a> and passing the <a href=\"http:\/\/validator.w3.org\/mobile\/check?docAddr=http%3A%2F%2Fmomodublin.mobi%2F&amp;async=true&amp;view=cat\">W3C MobileOK<\/a> test.<\/li>\n<li>Optionally integrates with dotMobi&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/deviceatlas.com\/\">DeviceAtlas<\/a> to provide finer grained device detection and adaptation.<\/li>\n<li>Provides a mobile administration panel for approving comments, creating and editing posts and tweaking hundreds of WordPress settings.<\/li>\n<li>Optionally mobilizes your choice of\u00a0 any WordPress sidebar widgets that you use, like recent comments.<\/li>\n<li>Included Mobile Advertising Widget supports AdMob and Addsense.<\/li>\n<li>Switchable mobile themes.\u00a0 Ships with four themes and provides a platform for creating custom themes<\/li>\n<li>Built in barcode generator creates a QR Code linking to your mobile site. A Barcode Widget lets you add the barcode to your desktop site&#8217;s sidebar.<\/li>\n<li>Open Source under the Apache license. You are free to modify, extend or &#8220;Borrow&#8221; bits and pieces for your own projects without &#8220;copyleft&#8221; as long as you retain the license notice and disclaimer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mobile Pack was created by James Pearce,\u00a0 dotMobi&#8217;s\u00a0VP of Emerging Technologies and co-author of Wiley&#8217;s &#8220;<em>Mobile Internet for Dummie<\/em>s&#8221;.\u00a0 James also built the <a title=\"mobile site\" href=\"http:\/\/hwof.mobi\/\">Hollywood Walk of Fame mobile site<\/a> and <a title=\"mobile site\" href=\"http:\/\/metajam.mobi\/\">MetaJam<\/a>, a mobile front end to IMDb.<\/p>\n<p>Based on my early look, I think Mobile Pack is the best choice for mobilizing a World Press blog.\u00a0 It&#8217;s easy to setup, does a great job of adaptation, is highly configurable and extensible and will go a long way to insuring that your mobile site is standards compliant and will work and show well on all mobile devices.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not perfect.\u00a0 The facilities for editing posts and managing comments are very basic.\u00a0 It&#8217;s not possible to assign or change post categories, tags or the post excerpt.\u00a0 There is no comment editing, you can only approve comments or mark them as spam.
