Found on the Mobile Web<\/em> is an occasional WAP Review<\/em> feature listing newly added and updated sites on the YesWAP.com<\/a> mobile portal and WapReview <\/a>mobile site directory. With these latest additions the directory and portal now list 1064 mobile sites.<\/p>\n Sports<\/strong><\/p>\n Eurosport<\/em> (m.eurosport.com<\/a>) Eurosport Mobile has a new url and a redesigned and much improved site. The front page has been expanded from 5 headlines with daily updates to 10 headlines updated every few minutes and finally there is LIVE coverage, lots of it. At this moment there are live reports from 7 football (soccer to us Yanks) matches, 4 snooker! matches, 2 tennis matches and 2 basketball games. Besides those sports, Eurosport also has extensive coverage of Motor Racing, Cycling, Cricket, Track and Field and Rugby.<\/p>\n Euro2008info<\/em> (euro2008info.mobi)<\/a> News, Scores, Schedules and Standings from the 2008 UEFA European Football Championship.<\/p>\n Technology\/Mobile\/News – Reviews<\/strong><\/p>\n Mobile Messaging 2.0<\/em> (mobilemessaging2.com<\/a>) Mobile Messaging 2.0, the site which is hosting this week’s Carnival of the Mobilists<\/em>, is a frequently updated blog on mobile topics with an emphasis on messaging services. It features posts by well known mobile bloggers including Oliver Starr, Darla Mack and podcaster Ewan Spence.<\/p>\n Cell Phone News<\/em> 2.0 (cellphonenews2.mobi<\/a>) Is a Digg style site specializing in mobile related stories. Just like Digg, users can submit items and Digg, Bury and comment on stories. What surprises me about this site is how relevant articles seem to be. The secret seems to be that most items aren’t actually user submitted, Cell Phone News 2.0 pulls in items from the RSS feeds of 60 well known mobile blogs and news sites. From SMS Text News<\/a>.<\/p>\n Portals<\/strong><\/p>\n Ovi<\/em> (http:\/\/ovi.nokia.com\/<\/a>) Nokia’s soon to be released Ovi “personal dashboard” already has a mobile site. At this point there’s not much there but descriptions of the services Ovi will eventually provide; photo and video sharing, music downloads, maps and directions, calendar and contact synchronization and games. The site promises it’s all coming soon so “check back regularly…”<\/p>\n Entertainment\/Mobile Video-Audio<\/strong><\/p>\n Break Mobile<\/em> (m.break.com<\/a>) Break.com is a popular online video site featuring humorous user generated videos in the style of TV show “America’s Funniest Home Videos”. Users can indicate their approval or disapproval of a video by clicking a thumbs up or thumbs down icon with cash prizes awarded to the most popular videos. The videos are in the lowest common denominator 176×144 H263 format, meaning low quality but also that they will work on virtually any video capable phone.<\/p>\n Blue-Mobile<\/em> (blue-mobile.com<\/a> ) A directory of streaming TV and Radio stations. Most are in Windows Mobile format which limits the audience to Windows Mobile phones, unfortunately.<\/p>\n TalkStreamLive<\/em> (talkstreamlive.com\/mobile<\/a>) Streaming talk and music radio TV. Streams vary in format. The majority are WMA but some are Ogg or MP3. The site gives no indication which streams are which making finding the ones that work a hit or miss proposition.<\/p>\n Travel-Transit\/Air<\/strong><\/p>\n WhereThere<\/em> (wherethere.mobi<\/a>) lets travelers share reviews of hotels and restaurants in and around an airport or city. Search is by airport code or city, state and country. For each location WhereThere returns the aviation and 3 day weather forecasts and mini reviews of local restaurants, hotels and attractions. There are also links to airline and hotel chain mobile sites and to the mobile versions of Google Local and the Flightstats flight tracking site.<\/p>\n Entertainment\/Photo Sharing<\/strong><\/p>\n Radar<\/em> (radar.net<\/a>) is a photo sharing site that uses a closed network model like Facebook. Pictures are shared with your network of friends and no one else. Friends can comment and reply to each others comments and can send private messages (which Radar calls “Whispers”) . Your photos and your friend’s photos can be viewed on Radar’s web and mobile sites or with a downloadable mobile Java application. There’s also a Facebook application and AIM integration. Uploading is by MMS to an email address or by using ShoZu.
