Alexander at MobileRead has posted about the Associated Press’ new Election 2006 mobile site (mer.ap.org) which offers state by state results for all national and major state offices. The results of this year’s primaries are currently posted – most of these occurred months ago. This could be a great site to follow the Nov. 7th congressional and senate elections. However, it will need to be updated in a timely manner to be useful. It’s not a good sign that as of 6 PM Oct 1st the link to the Sept 30th Louisiana elections on the front page leads to a page with no results have been posted yet! The site also carries election related news stories.

The elections site was created for AP by Crisp Wireless which has apparently been quite busy building mobile sites for a number of companies. MobileRead lists 32 additional sites most of which are new to me. I will go through these and eventually post reviews of the most interesting ones as well as add all that seem useful to the Yeswap.com mobile portal. In the meantime – if you want to try these from your phone, you can follow these links from the mobile edition of this blog at mp.wapreview.com"
