Mobile BlackBerry Forums

My Boost Mobile Motorola i855 recently died and I picked up an old Blackberry 7100i for $35 on eBay to replace it.  This is my first Blackberry so I needed plenty of help in figuring out to set it up to synchronize with Outlook and to find and load compatible applications.  Fortunately there are a huge number of BlackBerry resources on the net. A little Googling and I found everything I needed.  My contacts, calendar and notes are now synchronized … Continue reading

Vanguard Fund’s Mobile Site

Vanguard Funds is a large US mutual fund house specializing in no-load, low cost index funds.  I like the company but I’m disappointed by their mobile site at vanguard.mobi (you will need a mobile browser to see the mobile version). There isn’t much content and usability is not as good as it could be. Vanguard.mobi can be used by anyone, whether they have a Vanguard account or not, to view the current value of four major US market indexes and … Continue reading

Sasko Flour’s Award Winning Recipe Site

The I Love Mobile Web Awards were handed out at last month’s Mobile Web Europe Conference in London.  The awards were sponsored by dotMobi and were judged by a panel of industry representatives. I generally agree with the panels choices, many of the winners were sites I’ve review favorably in the past including APNews, MocoSpace, Taptu, Kizoom and Zagat. One winner that was new to me was Sasko Flour (saskoflour.mobi).  It’s a recipe site from South African flour miller Sasko … Continue reading

Perezhiton Mobile

Celebrity gossip blog Perezhilton.com dubs itself “Hollywood’s Most Hated Web Site”.  The site is loaded with photos and descriptions of celebrities acting dumb and looking bad.  Perez’ catty remarks and the crude captions he adds to most of the photos certainly give the site a unique flavor. The guy just loves to dig up and dish dirt on the rich and famous and it seems to have worked out very well for him. At least it has if  legal fees … Continue reading

The Daily Mirror is now ShowbizFree Mobile!

This is kind of weird. Over a year ago in Found on the Mobile Web #20 one of the mobile sites I “found” was for the UK Tabloid, “The Daily Mirror” at the URL, mirror.opnr.com. I try to keep the WapReview Mobile Web Directory and YesWAP.com mobile portal up to date and free from dead links so every day I try to go through a different folder on the sites and check the links to make sure they still work. … Continue reading

The anonymous blogger known as the “Boy Genius” or BG is famous for publishing scoops about future gadgets and mobile products. A lot of  BG’s scoops involve leaked documents, photos and sometimes complete reviews of devices the BG has somehow managed to get his hands on months before there official release. Among the more notable BG scoops, he was the first to reveal the Blackberry Pearl with pictures and video before anyone had so much published a rumor about a … Continue reading
