1. Dennis Bournique, you know this is totally a helpful. anyway do you know how to change the BG colors? or the default color of UCbrowser theme?(the light-blue and white) without downloading a theme.

   • You can change the background color to black by choosing the Night theme (Settings > Display > Themes) There’s no way to change the theme except by downloading a different one.

2. I’ve bought a china phone and almost all usefull applications are installed into it from the company but I can’t do this ….So please tell me that how I can install Uc browser into it or any other browser???

   • You mean a fake iPhone or something like that? Some of them don’t let users install apps or don’t support Java at all.
     If the phone supports installing apps one of the following methods should work.
     1. Go to the website where the app is available using the phone’s browser and click the download link, the app should download and install
     2. Download the app to a PC. Copy the the app (.jad file) to the phone’s memory card using a cable or card reader. Using the the phone’s file manager click on the app’s jad file on the memory card and the app should install.

3. but the operamini 7 modified version say too large when i download that. What i can do yar. I dont know how modified that plz modified that opera4.4 version and add here plz. For my samsung phone. Touch version.

   • Bolt doesn’t work. The servers have been shut down. I never heard of ibrowser or QQ.

   • You downloaded an empty file somehow. Try downloading it again.

   • I won’t be able to get to it until next week. 8.6 is only a minor upgrade, but if you are in a hurry the post tells you how to modify it yourself.

    • The differences between UC Browser versions are the new features listed above for each version.

      The built in browser is usually best for downloading and installing apps.

12. In the USA java phones are not sold much but in the outer world they are, most made in China and India. My new touch screen is Chinese, running java sava os it doesnt talk like the iphone but does everything else like a highend smartphone. Its a no name brand. Plenty small companies in China making them, not all, but some work great. The Chinese are very good at it.

19. when you open the .jad file with windows wordpad you just need to look for the following line:
    Nokia-MIDlet-On-Screen-Keypad: yes
    and change it to:
    Nokia-MIDlet-On-Screen-Keypad: no
    in case you can’t locate the line, just scroll to the bottom of the file and paste in the latter.
    this works for me.

21. Samsung phone support unsigned apps easily and it does not create problem in using .jar modified app.
    So please upload the .jar modified version also.

    • There are many tutorials on the web that show you how to modify the jar as well as many sites with modified jar downloads. I don’t see any reason for me to duplicate them.

      I wrote this post to show how to modify the jad to get rid of the virtual keyboard because it is has many advantages and is less well known then jar modification.

22. Hey u can use this code in .jar version.Just open with winrar and then drag and drop MANIFEST.MF folder and open it with Notepad and these lines to remove virtual keypad-
    MIDlet-On-Screen-Keypad: no
    MIDlet-Scaleup-Support: False

    (If above three lines don’t work,then add these two below lines also)-
    LGE-MIDlet-Width: 240
    LGE-MIDlet-Height: 400

    • That works but modifying the JAR is more difficult, has no advantages that I can see and means the app is no longer signed.
      It’s easier to modify the JAD and is the only way if you want or need the signed version.

    • Not all phones allow third party apps like the UC Browser to access the file system which is necessary to upload photos using the browser. Using a signed version of UC browser may help, but if that doesn’t work you can always upload photos by sending a picture message to your Facebook email upload address.

    • The best browser is the one that works best for you on your phone. I don’t have a champ deluxe duos so I have no idea which might be best. You say Opera Mini 6.0 doesn’t work well so try 6.5 or stick with UC if that works well.

34. Iam using uc browser 8.0.3.107 But it doesnt have vido search engine (vuclips.com videos) which vertion have that tool. Iam using sonyericsson yendo w150i mobile. Which vertion is best for my mobile for downloading videos and how would i get that vestion to my mobile.

    • I don’t remember ever seeing a vuclip search in any version of UC. I don’t see the point of having single site searches built into browsers. There’s a site search on the vuclip site, use that. Or use Google with a “site:” query filter e.g. “world cup site:vuclip.com” to find world cup videos.

      Go to wap.ucweb.com with your phone’s browser. It will detect your device and serve the best version, currently 8.2.

    • UC hasn’t tested that phone. Try 8.2 and if it doesn’t work try 7.2 Lite.

    • I don’t have an E2652 to test with but 7.2.0.46 lite is the version that UC recommends for that phone. You should as on the UC Browser Forum maybe someone there who has that phone can suggest something.

    • UC recommends the UC Browser 7.2.0.46 Lite version for the Samsung e2652

41. For samsung s8500 no need for a patched app just change use virtual keypad or not in apps.

    • That’s true for the S8500 but not for all Samsung touch screen phones. Also the option to disable the virtual keypad was removed from bada 2.0 so if the S8500 ever gets 2.0 it will need this patch too.

    • UC recomends UC Browser 7.2 Lite for that model download it from http://wap.ucweb.com using your phone browser or from http://www.ucweb.com/English/UCbrowser/product_choose_browser.html with a PC
