Mippin

One of the presenters at last week’s Mobile 2.0 Event was Mippin. It’s hard to tell much about a service from a five minute presentation and Mippin’s left me pretty unclear on what it actually was. I’ve had time to play with Mippin so here’s my take. Mippin is a mobile portal built from RSS feeds. In itself that’s not new, Feed2Mobile. Mowser, FeedM8 and Winksite all offer directories of mobile formated feeds. They all have their own mix of … Continue reading

Great Mobile Web Statistics from AdMob

Finding data on mobile web traffic and mobile browser share is like pulling teeth. It got a little easier this week with AdMob’s release of their Mobile Metrics Report (PDF). It’s an analysis of data on mobile ad impressions for the month of September. AdMob will be publishing the report monthly. There’s loads of some solid information in this report; things like the most popular phones for mobile browsing worldwide and in the US, India, South Africa and the UK … Continue reading

Mobile 2.0 Event

Photo – Daniel Appelquist I spent yesterday at the Mobile 2.0 Event here in San Francisco. It was nice to meet so many of my readers and fellow mobile bloggers. This is a world class event and a real bargain. I don’t think there’s any other conference were you will find so many of the movers and shakers of the mobile world gathered in such a relatively intimate setting. It was fast paced and went very smoothly, hat tip to … Continue reading
