The Truth About Opera Mobile 10 Memory Usage

It’s been a long wait but Opera Software today released the first Beta of Opera Mobile 10 for Symbian.  Supporting Symbian S30 3rd and 5th edition devices, Opera Mobile 10 is available  free of charge at opera.com/mobile/next/. I’ve downloaded the new Beta onto my trusty Nokia N95-3, which is  the North America Market version of the original N95, and I am impressed. The first thing I did was run the Acid 3 Test where Opera Mobile scored 100 out of … Continue reading

New Mobile Twitter Client Twittme Offers 240 Character Tweets

Twittme is a new mobile Twitter front end. That makes at least six now. What sets Twittme apart from the rest is that it allows creating Tweets longer than 140 characters. The “What are you doing” field in Twittme accepts up to 240 characters. Tweets longer than 140 are sent as two successive Tweets. Several desktop clients do this but Twittme is the first mobile web one I’ve seen that does. Tweetme is a feature rich client (see the table … Continue reading

Matt posted some photos of the meet up and Tnkgrl’s video coverage is on her blog. The N900 is a fantastic device that really feels more like a computer than a phone.  Mathew and Tnkgrl … Continue reading

Hands-On With the ATT.NET (Opera Mini) Browser

I spent some time recently playing with the AT&T branded version of Opera Mini that the operator is using as its default browser on at least four new devices.  The Pantech Reveal, released earlier this month, is the  first phone with the new browser. AT&T seemes to have overlooked WapReview again in handing out review units to bloggers so I had to try the Reveal out at my local AT&T shop. The new browser is branded as att.net. Opera’s name … Continue reading

Site Hacked? Check Your AdSense Publisher ID And 3rd Party Scripts

Sometime Saturday night Wapreview.com was hacked. The hackers didn’t do much damage.  Their goal was apparently financial gain rather than wanton destruction.  All that was changed was the  publisher ID in the JavaScript code for the AdSense block in the sidebar.  This meant that ad impressions and clicks were credited to someone else’s account instead of mine.  Ads continued to run and I probably would never have discovered it except for one thing.  Sunday evening I noticed that the ad’s … Continue reading

FuelEconomy.gov was created by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOT) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to help consumers … Continue reading
