Opera today released “Final” (non-Beta) versions of Opera Mini 5 (image above, left) and Opera Mobile 10 (image above, right) for most platforms. Only the just released Opera Mini 5 for Android and the native Windows Mobile version of Opera Mini  remain in Beta. Opera Mini 5 Beta Available As A Native Windows Mobile .CAB

Opera Software today released a new Beta version of the Opera Mini 5 Beta as a native Windows Mobile  executable packaged as a .cab file.  This means that a JVM or Midlet Manager is no longer required to run Opera Mini on Windows Phones.  Finding and installing a compatible Midlet Manager has been an issue for many Windows Mobile users.  A native Opera Mini eliminates that hassle and should also provide better performance and integration with the OS. Mobile Firefox Best On The W3C’s New Mobile Browser Test

The W3C’s Mobile Web Test Suites Working Group has released their Web Compatibility Test for Mobile Browsers Version 2.  It’s at www.w3.org/2010/01/wctmb2/. This is a forward looking test that is designed to test HTML 5 capabilities that will drive the next generation of mobile Webapps including XmlHttpRequest, <canvas>, <input type=’date’>, contenteditable, Appcache,  <video>, <audio>, Web Workers, localStorage, sessionStorage and @font-face. Bolt 1.7 Adds Widgets, Twitter Integration, Flash Video and Download Manager Enhancements

Opera Mobile 10 Beta 3 Released

Opera Software has released a new Beta of Opera Mobile,  their native code direct browser for  Symbian 3rd and 5th edition and Windows Mobile 5 and 6+ phones.  It includes a couple of highly anticipated features; Windows Mobile only support for plugins such as Flash Lite and support for non-touchscreen Windows Mobile phones. The N900 Forecasts Mobile Browsing’s Future
