Motorola’s First Android, the “Cliq” With MOTOBLUR

Motorola’s first Android phone was announced today by Motorola CTO Sanjay Jha at GigaOm’s Mobilize conference in San Francisco.  The phone is Motorola Cliq MB200, which looks like the same phone that was widely leaked as the Morrison.  Thankfully the toy-like bright blue trim featured in most of the leaked shots has been replaced by basic black.  Specs include: 3.1-inch HVGA touch-screen display 5 megapixel auto focus camera with geo tagging, video capture and 24 fps playback 3.5mm headset jack … Continue reading

Bolt Browser Beta 2 – New Features and Performance Enhancements

The New Yahoo Mobile Web Portal Is Live

Today at CTIA, Yahoo announced the availability of the new Yahoo Mobile.  It comes in the form of an iPhone app and as a mobile web site at new.m.yahoo.com. CTIA: Mobile Jam Session

Today was the last day of CTIA and Caroline Lewko of Wireless industry Partnership (WIP) hosted a  Mobile Jam Session for Developers.  Caroline is getting famous for these events which she also threw this year at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and at CTIA in Las Vegas. CTIA Endorses 2D Barcodes

Today the CTIA announced a “Camera-Phone Based Barcode Scanning White Paper” (PDF) at the morning keynote. There was a demonstration of scanning a bar code with a camera phone to launch a video on the handset. The white paper describes a somewhat complicated indirect access architecture where the code scanning application sends an identifier to a central “Clearing House” which routes it to a “Campaign Manager” associated with a particular service.  The Campaign Manager then sends a message to the handset application directing it … Continue reading
