Seeking Alpha Website Is Broken in Opera and Firefox Mobile

Seeking Alpha is a big US based stock market analysis and financial site. I recently discovered that it has a mobile formatted layout which it seems to only serve to Android and iOS devices. In Safari, the Android default browser and Android Chrome, the mobile layout is attractive and seems user friendly, although scrolling in both Android browsers feels a bit laggy. On other mobile platforms like bada, Symbian, S40 and WebOS, Seeking Alpha delivers its desktop layout, which is … Continue reading

Here’s how to … Continue reading

There’s also a  Google Group that’s been setup for user feedback. The apk can be downloaded from bit.ly/fennec-android. Mozilla suggests disabling Apps2SD (if you use it) and installing Firefox to device memory. AndroidCentral seems to be the first site to post impressions of Firefox on Android … Continue reading

Supercharge the N900 Browser With Bookmarklets

Regular WapReview readers know I’m a big fan of browser bookmarkets, snippets of JavaScript in a browser bookmark that automate repetitive tasks in the browser.  Bookmarklets let you post  links to Twitter or  Delicious with just a couple taps. And that’s just the beginning, bookmarklets can simplify tasks like creating short URLs, subscribing to feeds in Google Reader or Bloglines, translating all or part of a web page to another language and changing illegible page colors to something more readable. … Continue reading

Updated: Trying Out Firefox Mobile 1.0 For Maemo

Firefox Mobile – Truncated header background Update: A couple of days after I originally wrote this piece, Firefox Mobile RC3 went golden as Firefox Mobile 1.0.  As far as I can tell their were no code changes between RC3 and 1.0 so the content of this piece is relevant to the initial this the first non-Beta release of Firefox Mobile.  There have however been updates to some of the extensions most notably “Weave”.  I’ve also found the elusive “Tabs From … Continue reading
