Opera Labs Brings Extensions to Opera Mobile for Android

A few days ago, Opera Labs unveiled an early release of Opera Mobile that adds support for Opera Extensions. These are small user installable programs, similar to W3C widgets, that are built with JavaScript, HTML and CSS and add functionality to the browser. Opera Mini Next for Symbian Updated

A new Beta, a.k.a “Next”, version of Opera Mini,  labeled “Opera Mini Next for Symbian/S60 – update 1″, is now available for Symbian 2nd edition and latter devices. Download it by pointing your Symbian native browser at m.opera.com/next.  The update  fixes a number of the bugs in the first release. Opera Mini for Android Updated to Version 7.0

Opera Software has updated the Android version of its Opera Mini proxy browser from 6.5.2 to 7.0. If you have used the Opera Mini “Next” Beta version, then 7.0 should look familiar. According to Opera 7.0, incorporates the all new features added to Opera Mini Next plus some unspecified bug fixes. UC Browser 8.2 Java Update Adds Swipe Navigation and Fixes the bada URL Bug

UC Mobile has released an update to the UC Browser 8.2 Beta for Java phones. The  only reported changes in this version are: A fix for the bug that prevented users from entering URLs on Samsung bada phones. On touch screen phones users can now swipe left and right to go backward and forward though session history. I love using well-designed mobile webapps. But I hate it when a site blocks me from using its desktop version to do something the mobile one doesn’t support. New UC Browser 8.2 Java Beta Adds QWERTY Shortcuts, Restores Some Missing Features

UC Mobile has released a new 8.2 Beta version of the UC Browser for Java ME. Here’s a list of what’s new in this version compared to the previous 8.0 Beta: Smoother. I’ve done a long overdue cleanup of my Mobile Bookmarklets page at o.yeswap.com, which has over 40 mobile bookmarklets and instructions for using them. I retested all the bookmarklets and found six that weren’t working. I was able to fix all of them but two. I removed the non-working bookmarklets which were for services (Google Buzz and Mobleo.net) which no longer exist. Here are the updated bookmarklets.
