The mobile edition of the popular social bookmarking and news agregation site Reddit.com comes in two flavors,

m.reddit.com is the legacy mobile version with a front page size under 20 KB and no JavaScript dependencies. It's a read only view of all of Reddit's items, "Other Reddits" (subject matter categories) and comments.

i.reddit.com is Reddit's AJAXy new "Touch Web" version that requires JavaScript and a browser that can handle 200 KB pages. Compared with the legacy version it offers more eye candy and the ability to log in to post items and leave comments.

TweetMeme is a new meme tracker that aggregates the most popular links on Twitter and organizes them into  categories. Listings include number of Tweets, a typical Tweet's message, title of the linked page and the link itself which generally doesn't point at a mobile friendly page. Source: Oh! Mobile Directory

Topix describes itself as "News on 360,000 topics, from Autos to your ZIP code.." It's a meme tracker that you can customize. Besides the ability to pick a topic from a huge list, Topix will also give you headlines based on a search query. So if you want to follow news about the mobile web, you enter "mobile web" in the search box and you have you own customized book-markable news tracker that will always show show you the latest news containing the string "mobile web". There are also featured tracks on the Topix home page for Top Stories, Local News (by zip code), World, Business, Entertainment, Gadgets, Autos, Health, Games, Tech, Music, Opinion, Sports, NBA, MLB, NFL, Blogs and Offbeat. Every page and search result on Topix can be rendered in a mobile version. There are no mobile specific urls for the mobile pages, Topix relies on browser detection to serve the appropriate version. I found the detection hit or miss, most Nokias, Blackberries and Treos are recognized as mobiles but some popular phones like the Motorola E710 and Samsung A900 are not. Opera Mini also gets the full page but handles it very well. Unlike Topix and Mini-Techmeme, not only is the list of tracked links mobilized but clicking a link usually leads to a mobile friendly version of the original web page. Topix links to the mobile version of the original site and if there is no mobile version, Topix creates one using their own transcoder which strips out everything but text. This process is inconsistent as some links lead to full-sized web pages particullarly in Topix' Tech and Gadgets sections.

Afrigator is a meme tracker that aggregates the the top posts by African bloggers. The mobile edition is divided into seven categories; Life, Entertainment, Business, Tech, Politics, Religion and Sport with a separate page for each and a front page that caries the top stories from all categories. 

Listings consist of the post title and a short except.  You can click through to read the full article which will not usually be mobile formatted. Source: Oh! Mobile Directory

News agregator which collects the top news stories from thousands of sources.  You can view news in any of 26 categories from Art to Video Games or as a blended "Top News" stream.  Listings consist of a headline and excerpt.  You can click through to the original source which is generally NOT mobile friendly.  Source: Oh! Strives to find and link to the most relevant and authoritative versions of the top political news, primarily from well known bloggers.The stories that Mini-Memeorandum links too are NOT mobilized. This works OK if you are using a full-web browser like Opera, Netfront or PIE and have an unlimited data plan. If the the large pages are a problem for your browser or your wallet you should visit Memeorandum via Skweezer or the Google Transcoder.

A personalized news aggregator. Registered users can customize their iCurrent homepage by choosing from a variety of pre-configured channels like Financial Reform, HTML5, World Series of Poker, Net Neutrality or Search Engine Marketing or by adding their own search queries to create a new channel. Anyone can use iCurrent as a news search engine or meme tracker without registering or logging in.
