CellStories – Mobile Short Story Of The Day

CellStories is a new mobile service offering a different short story every day. The stories, which average 1500 to 2000 words or about a 10 minute read, are free. They supplied by budding or established authors looking to increase their exposure. CellStories doesn’t pay for content but will link back to the author’s (hopefully mobile optimized) site or Amazon.com or other bookstore sales page. The design of CellStories is attractive but functional. I particularly like that the site opens directly … Continue reading

Nokia CEO calls the N900 “the best browser device ever” Is It?

At the Nokia World keynote today, Nokia CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvou (OPK) called the N900 the “best browser device ever”.  Strong words and clearly aimed at the iPhone which is often said to have the best mobile browser. It’s OK, with pretty good rendering and JavaScript support and it’s easy to use.  I don’t even mind that it doesn’t support Flash, personally I wish … Continue reading

Delivr Update Improves Mobile Usability

Delivr is the short URL  service that I  use with Twitter and other micro-blogging services. I like Delivr because it’s fast and reliable but most of all because it is mobile aware.  Mobile visitors to a Delivr URL get the mobile version of the target site, if there is one, otherwise they see a mobilized view created with Google’s transcoder. Desktop visitors to the same Delivr URL are transported directly to the original link. As much as I like Delivr … Continue reading
