The Minneapolis StarTribune’s Updated Mobile Site is Content-Rich

The Minneapolis StarTribune has updated its mobile site. The old site was really designed for PDA’s but usability scaled down to typical phones fairly well. The new one is a pure mobile xhtml page. There are links to about 25 breaking news stories on the front page organized into Weather, News, Sports, Business and Entertainment sections . New Opera Mini Bookmarklets

I’ve added four more bookmarklets to the Opera Mini Bookmarklets page at o.yeswap.com.  They were submitted by Lucian, a  reader and regular contributor to Wap Review.  Bookmarklets are bits of JavaScript code stored in a browser bookmark.  When you launch a bookmarklet  it typically does something with the  current page like highlight all the links, display the page’s cookies or Page Rank or subscribe to the current site’s RSS feed in Google Reader or Bloglines. Watch Out For This Openwave Redirection Bug

Back in the bad old days of WML,  redirection bugs with mobile browsers and WAP gateways were pretty common. Discovery Communications, which operates 28 cable TV networks including the Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, Discovery Health Channel and Travel Channel recently launched this mobile portal which features selected content including news, videos and games from across the Discovery properties. I’ve been using Delivr.com since launched in December.  It’s so powerful and does so many things that it’s hard to summarize.  I covered it in depth here.
