Revvs – Mobile Motorsports News Aggregator

m.Revvs.net is a new motorsports mobile web site which presents excepts (typically the first paragraph of a longer story) pulled from news sources around the world. Each story is illustrated with a 128x128px image. There’s a lot of news on this site, with around 60 news items appearing on the site at any time, probably more than any other mobile motorsports site. Best Western Mobile

BestWestern.com detects mobile browsers and redirects to a mobile site where you can find and book hotels in the Best Western chain, which operates in the United States, Canada and Australia. Like just about every mobile hotel booking site I’ve every seen, this one has some pretty horrendous usability problems. Things start fairly well with a search form where you enter the city and dates you want to book and then choose the state and country from a drop down. … Continue reading

148th Carnival of the Mobilists at Mopocket

There’s a new Carnival of the Mobilists posted at mopocket.com.  It’s election day in the US and this week’s Carnival host, Justin Oberman has given his carnival an election theme. Hopefully, this will serve to remind US readers to be sure to vote today.  In keeping with the theme, Little Springs Design’s Barbara Ballard contributed a piece on the (un)usability of touchscreen voting machines. There are some great posts in this week’s Carnival including a couple of new takes on … Continue reading

2008 Mobile 2.0 Event San Francisco – Part 1

Today was the 3rd annual Mobile2.0 Event in San Francisco. This is my favorite mobile conference, fast paced, intimate and  with a no PowerPoint rule! Mobile 2.0 always seems to draw the best presenters and the attendees are a nice balance of developers and entrepreneurs from the Americas, Europe and Asia.  This year’s event was no exception. Kudos to the organizers: Daniel Appelquist from Vodafone; Gregory Gorman, Tertius; Mike Rowehl, Skyfire, Peter Vesterbacka, Some Bazaar and Mobile Monday and Rudy … Continue reading
