Opera Mobile 12.0 Symbian Update One Fixes Bugs, Restores <video> Support.

Opera Software today issued an update to Opera Mobile 12.0 for Symbian.  It fixes a number of bugs and restores HTML5 <video> and <audio> support.  Here’s the changelog. Latest Social Update Fixes the Nokia Belle “Feature Not Available” Sharing Bug

Update 22-Feb-2012: Nokia has released an update to the Social app that fixes the Sharing bug described below. A hard reset is no longer needed as updating Social restores the abilitity to share images from the Gallery to Twitter and Facebook.  To install the update eithr run Software Update on the phone or use Nokia Suite’s Phone Update feature. Belle, the latest OS upgrade for what used to be called Symbian phones, was released yesterday in most markets for the C6-01, C7, E6, E7, N8, X7 and Oro. FBReader Now Available For Symbian and Harmattan

My favorite eBook reader is now available for Symbian 5th Ed. and later and MeeGo/Harmattan.  It’s FBReader, which I started using around 2005 on a Sharp Zaurus Linux PDA.  FBReader is open source software that runs on just about every Linux based portable platform including Android and Maemo as well as on Linux, Mac OS X and Windows PCs. Opera Mini and Mobile For Symbian Update Fixes Opera Link Freezing

Opera Software has released important bug fix upgrades for the Symbian versions of both Opera Mini 6.5 and Opera Mobile11.5. The updates fixs a bug that caused both browsers to lock up if Opera Link bookmark synchronization was enabled. There are some other fixes including one where deleting pre-installed search engines did not “stick”.
